GofG’s Summer Wine List

Here’s what we’d like to sip this summer. Feel free to suggest others.
The 2005 Bedell Gallery, a blend of Chardonnay, Viognier, and Sauvignon Blanc, from Bedell Cellars. “The nose is toasty and complex, with minerality, matchstick, lemon/lime tones and vanilla wafer. The rich, round mouthfeel is highlighted by citrus and Honeysuckle blossoms with oak weaved seamlessly throughout.”
The 2006 Vino Bianco, a blend of Tocai Friulano, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay, from Channing Daughters. “Often we smell and taste tangerines, yellow plums, white peaches, pineapple, juicy dripping pears, hints of vanilla, brown spice, honey and a magical floral quality, almost like acacia blossoms.”
The 2007 Rosé, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, from Wolffer Estates. “The nose is filled with fresh fruit of ripe lemons with a wonderful combination of gooseberry and strawberry. The mouth-feel is vibrant with very clean and crisp fruits of ripe apples with some orange, fine lime notes and great minerality. The finish is elegant yet playful and goes on for quite a long time.”
The 2005 Pinot Noir from Jamesport Vineyards. “The exceptional and exquisite varietal exhibits red currant, plum and tobacco aromas with flavors of black cherry, strawberry, and coffee. Its mouthfeel is soft and velvety while the fruit on the finish in long and lingering.”
The 2003 Cabernet Estate from Castello de Borghese Vineyards. “A gutsy Loire-style red…enticing flavors of black pepper, ground spices, blackberries and a grounding earthiness all bundled in a beautifully fruited nose.“

FYI- Clovis Point in Jamesport has a horrid staff with terrible, unbalanced wines…not worth the visit.
