Have you gotten to Bethpage for the US Open yet? Us neither. We’ve got Stephanie Wei for that. But until you do, why not curl up on the couch with one of these all time classic golf movies? Summer arrived early in the form of country club chic at Robert Fowler, Candice McCullough, Suzanne DeMambro, and Kerry McVey’s party in East Hampton last Saturday. Upon walking in, I felt as if I had stumbled into a Chuck and Blair (as in Bass and Waldorf, respectively) party. It was preppy heaven, brimming with sweaters tossed nonchalantly around partygoers’ shoulders, bows and headbands galore, pastels and Ralph Lauren quite obviously as the top choice as guests mingled with the famed polo player-atop-a-horse emblem emblazoned on their chests. This past weekend, at the Red Cross benefit in East Hampton, George Gurley approached us to ask to describe our summer out East this season. I couldn’t come up with anything “juicy” enough for his column (”Summer of Surf Lodge?” didn’t seem to hold enough scandal for him), though I pointed him to a couple of friends who I was sure could satisfy his debaucherous-seeking pen. Stephanie Wei and Liam McMullam gave him a full account of their sky diving adventure, for his piece titled: “Stephanie Goes Bombs-A-Wei From Plane In Lark With Liam McMullan“, as well as some fabulous one liners from Stephanie that are too good to not share:
“After declaring it the summer of debauchery, decadence and absurdity, she said the Hamptons feel forced this summer, like Disney World.”
“It’s just that everything is a little bit over-the-top,” she said. “I walk into parties sometimes and it’s like, did they import these people?….

Dinner At Sen, Sag Harbor
I finally tried out Sen in Sag Harbor this Wednesday where I got to introduce my friends Christine Cho and Stephanie Wei to each other. Chris and Steph were, I swear, twins in their last lives. Now that these two, who are both contributers here at GofG know each other, I can’t wait to see the fun trouble they will cause in my life! The sushi was just good but the company was the best!

Stephanie Wei And Liam McMullan Go Skydiving

I live everyday like I were going to die tomorrow. Liam McMullan and I went skydiving recently in Long Island. I had just gotten back from Seattle and Liam called, “I’m going skydiving in the morning. Want to come?” My response, “Sure, why not?” I’d always wanted to go skydiving and I was just waiting for the right time. It was on the way to the Hamptons, where I was going the next day, anyway. At 6 am, we took a train to Huntington and picked up Liam’s car at his grandmother’s house.
I am scared of heights. For reals. I figured that jumping out of a plane at 13,500 feet would be the perfect way to conquer my fear. As we drove up to the Long Island Skydiving Center, I felt mixed emotions - I was super excited, but at the same time, I was scared to death.
