DJ Cassidy Launches Michael Jackson Inspired Rockport Boat Shoe At Blue & Cream
[DJ Cassidy has the moves and the style. Go HERE for more pictures via DJ Cassidy] When it comes to most big name brand collaborations, the celebrity usually just hands their name over to the brand and doesn’t take much part in the whole design process. That’s not the case in Rockport’s latest Bridgeport boat shoe, designed by DJ Cassidy and launched at the East Hampton Blue & Cream store this past Saturday. One of our favorite celebrity DJs appeared in an ad for the shoe company in 2008 and has remained a fan, so when the company offered him the opportunity to design his own pair, he jumped on board. Celebrating Cassidy’s snazzy new boat shoe with the DJ design were Russell Simmons, Ryan Leslie, Lyor Cohen, Andre Harrell, Swizz Beatz and Paul Sevigny. He drew inspiration from his two biggest influences - both fashion and musically - Run DMC and Michael Jackson. So what do a pair of shoes like this look like? Cassidy considers the greatest outfit of all time to be Michael Jackson’s look in the “Billie Jean” video: Black leather suit, red bow tie, pink shirt, pink socks… More »

Much To Celebrate At The Art For Life After-Party
[Jamie Koff, Amy Kerner, Sara Joseph, Photos by Rob Rich] Russell Simmons sure had plenty to celebrate on the evening of his Art For Life Benefit. Not only was it the 10th anniversary of Art For Life but the benefit, that was held in the backyard of Simmons’ own personal East Hampton estate, raised approximately $1.2 million dollars. Therefore, an after-party was certainly in accord considering the benefit’s huge success. The official Art For Life after-party was held at Georgica Restaurant & Lounge in East Hampton. 10th Anniversary Of Art For Life With Party For Stars
[Donna Karan and Russell Simmons. All photos by ADRIEL REBOH for PMc] Russell Simmons celebrated the 10th Anniversary of Art for Life Saturday night at the beautifully decorated backyard of his East Hampton estate with friends, colleagues, family…and us. We introduced ourselves to Russell who couldn’t have been nicer even though he was short on time and we lacked all knowledge of the dress code as he stared at our brightly colored attire to his “black and white” themed soiree. Appropriately dressed guests in attendance included Donna Karan, Vanessa Williams, Soledad O’Brien, Rev Run & Co. including our favorites Diggy, Russy, and JoJo, Tila Tequila, Derek Blasberg, Adrienne Bailon, Oprah’s BFFs Gayle King and Dr. Oz, Star Jones, DJ M.O.S., and many more. Over $1 million was raised to benefit The Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing urban youth with significant exposure and access to the arts founded by Russell with brothers Danny and Rev Run in 1995.
