DJ Cassidy Launches Michael Jackson Inspired Rockport Boat Shoe At Blue & Cream
[DJ Cassidy has the moves and the style. Go HERE for more pictures via DJ Cassidy] When it comes to most big name brand collaborations, the celebrity usually just hands their name over to the brand and doesn’t take much part in the whole design process. That’s not the case in Rockport’s latest Bridgeport boat shoe, designed by DJ Cassidy and launched at the East Hampton Blue & Cream store this past Saturday. One of our favorite celebrity DJs appeared in an ad for the shoe company in 2008 and has remained a fan, so when the company offered him the opportunity to design his own pair, he jumped on board. Celebrating Cassidy’s snazzy new boat shoe with the DJ design were Russell Simmons, Ryan Leslie, Lyor Cohen, Andre Harrell, Swizz Beatz and Paul Sevigny. He drew inspiration from his two biggest influences - both fashion and musically - Run DMC and Michael Jackson. So what do a pair of shoes like this look like? Thank goodness it’s almost the weekend again! It’s taken us all a while to recuperate from the shenanigans of Memorial Day Weekend - and with due cause, if the Melet Mercantile store opening in Montauk was any indication. Ultimate hipster, Paul Sevigny, had everyone getting their groove on last Saturday until the party was moved to The Surf Lodge.

This Memorial Day Weekend was one for the books, as everyone was ready to party away the cold winter months and dance summer in. Case in point: these groovy chicks at the Melet Mercantile store opening in Montauk. Paul Sevigny kept everyone happy out east this weekend. Oh, but this is just the tip of the iceberg. We have more parties to take you through than we know what to do with. Thankfully, we have the entire week to do it in.
