All posts related to Off The Eaten Path on Hamptons for Off The Eaten Path.
Okay, so maybe The Princess Diner can’t really be considered “off the eaten path.” Especially since you have to drive by it on your way to, from, or during most of your Hamptons adventures, but we had no choice but to include it as our last featured grub spot. A New York City style diner in the middle of the Hamptons that is seemingly always open every time you need to run in with friends before your night out or stop by for a late brunch after a day on the beach is perfection as far as we’re concerned… More »
[Photo via Panoramio] Shelter Island’s dining options are tasty, yet limited so if you’re venturing to the Island and you’re looking to try something besides Sunset Beach, Sweet Tomato’s, or stopping by any of the many cafes located on the island, make a visit to The Dory Restaurant for their secret patio if for nothing else. Don’t be fooled by its’ appearance as this grub spot is more than worth the ferry ride. The food? Delicious. The view? Even better. More »
[Photo via londonderrynh] During the summer and into the fall, the Hamptons is known for having accessible fresh fruits and vegetables. There are numerous farms in Suffolk County which grow a wide assortment of fruits and vegetables that you can then pick on your own. Below is a list of farms in Suffolk County where you can pick your own fruits and vegetables. Some of them require a small trip to get to, hence why they are Off The Eaten Path locations…

[Photos via SunsetSaloon] As its name implies, there are two very good reasons to show up to Montauk’s Sunset Saloon each night: the gorgeous sunset views and extensive cocktail menu that make for an exceptionally pleasant, laid back experience. Locals, seasoned regulars (like Jimmy Buffet), and tourists fortunate enough to have been tipped off about this well-kept secret… More »
We recently stumbled across this location under construction and got the dish on a new restaurant and bar opening in East Quogue. New York City’s Thunder Jackson’s will be having a soft opening sometime next week and the executive chef of the West Village restaurant/bar, Ian Russo, will be bringing his menu to the Hamptons location as well… More »
[Riverhead Funcho's, All Photos by Yelp] My personal discovery of Funcho’s Fajita Grill was probably one of the best discoveries I ever made in the Hamptons. There are two Funcho’s in the East End, one on Main Street in Westhampton and the other is located in Riverhead. The food is tex-mex and very reasonably priced for the Hamptons. More »
[Photo via GothamGirl] Heading to Montauk this weekend and in need of a healthy new grub spot close to the beach? If you’ve had your share of Village Pizza and John Drive’s Inn, you should stop by Joni’s for not just good, but great organic, wholesome food. The laid-back picnic ready “sweet surf cafe” serves up fresh squeezed juices and creative sandwiches and wraps like the Zen Rabbit with mixed greens, avocado, goat cheese, tomato, onion, and calamata olives on a spinach tortilla. More story below… More »
Simply put, Ziggy’s is like Surf Lodge meets Cyril’s Fish House but in Bridgehampton. Barely under a year old, this restaurant is most commonly known as the space where nightclub “Harbor Club” used to reside. However, the restaurant really should be known for so much more. Located a short drive off of Montauk highway, Ziggy Attias drew inspiration from California and surfing when it came to the restaurants design and menu. More »
[Photos by 668thegigshack] Although we are not too sure what a gigshack is, we do know that 668 The Gigshack is the perfect place to come after a long summer day. Located in Montauk and within walking distance of the beach, this relaxed, simply hip, cafe restaurant with live music has a little bit of everything for someone. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner yet are most well-known for their cappuccinos, croissants, and fish tacos. More »
[Photos by SGExpress] As many have tasted before, fresh-locally produced goods and food has a indescribably better taste than comparable grocery store goods. Highlighting an east end favorite, a GofG reader recently suggested the East Hampton Farmers Market as an “Off The Eaten Path” location. Located in the famous restaurant parking of Nick and Toni’s, the Farmer’s Market is not difficult to find. More »
[Photos by Estia's] Prior to a GofG reader recently suggesting Estia’s Little Kitchen as an “Off The Eaten Path” choice, I had never heard of it before. It is a shame because after careful investigating, this quaint and cozy restaurant is amazing. It is located in my most favorite part of the Hamptons, Sag Harbor, and the menu alone makes your mouth water. Estia’s serves breakfast, lunch and dinner so there is something for everyone. Setting Estia’s apartment from your average Hamptons restaurant are their homemade pastas, fresh squeezed juices, and use of products harvested from local areas. More »
