[DJ Cassidy has the moves and the style. Go HERE for more pictures via DJ Cassidy] When it comes to most big name brand collaborations, the celebrity usually just hands their name over to the brand and doesn’t take much part in the whole design process. That’s not the case in Rockport’s latest Bridgeport boat shoe, designed by DJ Cassidy and launched at the East Hampton Blue & Cream store this past Saturday. One of our favorite celebrity DJs appeared in an ad for the shoe company in 2008 and has remained a fan, so when the company offered him the opportunity to design his own pair, he jumped on board. Celebrating Cassidy’s snazzy new boat shoe with the DJ design were Russell Simmons, Ryan Leslie, Lyor Cohen, Andre Harrell, Swizz Beatz and Paul Sevigny. He drew inspiration from his two biggest influences - both fashion and musically - Run DMC and Michael Jackson. So what do a pair of shoes like this look like? Cassidy considers the greatest outfit of all time to be Michael Jackson’s look in the “Billie Jean” video: Black leather suit, red bow tie, pink shirt, pink socks… More »

We loved how this 80s inspired throwback stood out in the much more conservative crowd at Bethenny Frankel’s book signing on Wednesday night. Her bright make-up and “Like A Virgin” flared skirt and pearls had us glad that we could spot her from across the room thanks to her towering heels. But as we were poring over our pictures this morning, what really got to us was the one black glove look she sported that night, made popular in the 80s by none other than the King of Pop himself, the now deceased Michael Jackson. We’re sure she’s high on his list of those mourning his death today, as are we.

via guestofaguest.com: Michael Jackson’s death is shaking up the world today. The Apollo theatre in Harlem has loads of fans coming to pay their respects, the Twitter world is besides itself, and Anderson Cooper even missed his “coming out” party to reminisce on the first time he met the King of Pop (at Studio 54 as a ten-year-old!). How will the Hamptons commemorate MJ? That’s anyone’s guess, but you can bet that there will be loads of his songs played at our party on Saturday night at Sole East. MORE>>>
