You know all the good houses get snatched up quick for next season out here in the Hamptons. That’s why we thought we’d help you start looking now. If you’re in the market for a big old summer share, than we may have just the house for you! Sadly enough, we never actually had the opportunity to go check out any of the 09′ share houses this year, but this one sure looks like a beaut’. More »
via guestofaguest.com: Team GofG traded the Jitney for a chopper last weekend during their trip to the Hamptons where they flew over this massive estate (or should we say castle) during their flight. We are unsure as to who lives in this “McMansion” complete with a stone structure and watch tower, but due to our recent visit to Sir Ivan’s castle, we can rule him out as the owner. Do you recognize this home? MORE>>>
[Photos by ADRIEL REBOH for PMc] It was only a matter of time before the 2009 Hampton Designer Showhouse Home was featured as the Hamptons House Of The Day. Sponsored by Traditional Home magazine, the interior of this Watermill Estate was designed with the help of over thirty participating designers… More »
Off of the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, there is a very popular row of homes that is called Boathouse Row. After seeing this row of homes in the Hamptons, we couldn’t help but think of this area as the “Boathouse Row” of the Hamptons, but called McMansion Row instead. We can’t imagine very many other places in the United States where you would see a sight such as this…
This little slice of lemon heaven was spotted in Southampton and sure enough this building was actually the guest house to a much larger estate hidden behind a wall of green hedges. In addition to the lemon yellow paint job and the terra cotta roof, the down sloping windows made it a stand out on its’ quiet Hamptons street. We only wish we could have gotten a peak at this guest home’s parent house… More »
This palatial estate, like many of the most extravagant homes in the Hamptons, is located ocean side. Separating it from many of its neighbors is it unique use of stone. Even though the stone chimneys give this home more of a woodsy upstate New York vibe, it is a true-blue Hamptons home. Hopefully this home was not located where the recent 24 foot shark wash up occurred.
While driving by this house for the first time, I thought it was a set of newly constructed condominiums due to its immense size. Upon further observation, I came to realize that it is actually one singular oceanside home. This picture unfortunately does not do the homes’ size justice, but lets just say it is definitely an understatement to call the home huge.
Presently under construction, this home in the Hamptons has a close resemblance to one of the most famous buildings in the Unites States, the White House. Both this Hamptons estate and the White House have four columns stemming from a triangular top and two rows of windows on either side. Not too sure why this newly built house needs three chimneys, but if President Obama needs to take a vacay, he will literally feel right at home with this estate. More pictures below: More »
Different from most Hamptons beach homes out here, this particular house in Southampton stood out thanks to its interesting use of geometric shapes. This particular home appears to have taken some architectural inspiration from the 1988 Tim Burton film, Beetlejuice. All we can hope is that there isn’t some pestiferous bio-exorcist named Beetlejuice living in the attic. More photos below: More »
Although this home’s architecture may be different from what you normally see, it is hard to deny its perfection and sheer adorableness. The ivory trim balances with the mint green paint oh so right while the gingerbread like architecture instantaneously insinuates a child like squeal of excitement. This is a tough one to guess but GofG readers do you know where this quaint home is located?
Two colors that always compliment each other well are brown and blue, however, it is everyday that you see these colors together on a house. While passing by, I could not help but admire its simplistic charm but eye catching beauty. This home is a tricky one, any guesses where in the Hamptons it is located GofG readers?
