“Best 2k I Ever Spent!” Saying Goodbye To Dune’s Summer Of AXE-tastic Adventures
[All photos by LISA WAGNER for BlogHamptons] Sunday was a sad, sad day for club-crawlers across the East End as Axe Lounge at Dune celebrated its final weekend of the summer season. These guys were especially heart broken as their days of bonding over bottles of booze while showing off their fist-pumping techniques, hitting on scantily-clad girls, and partying until they can’t see straight behind the walls of the Southampton hot spot are officially over. Now they will have to wait until next summer to participate in all of the AXE-tastic booze-filled mayhem because where else will they find such a place…named after a can of man spray.

We’ve heard countless stories, seen endless amounts of photos and have even made a few trips ourselves to the AXE-tastic Southampton hot spot, Axe Lounge at Dune, but what better way to get the full experience than with a surprise birthday party for one of our very own. Especially since we’re pretty sure there is no other way GofG’s Carson Griffith would prefer to spend her birthday in the Hamptons than with giant sparklers, New York City DJ Nick Cohen, as much champagne as a birthday girl could ever wish for, her closest friends, co-workers, and this guy along with the huge crowd of man-spray wearing, fist pumping, rump shaking AXE Loungers.

DJ Cassidy Launches Michael Jackson Inspired Rockport Boat Shoe At Blue & Cream
[DJ Cassidy has the moves and the style. Go HERE for more pictures via DJ Cassidy] When it comes to most big name brand collaborations, the celebrity usually just hands their name over to the brand and doesn’t take much part in the whole design process. That’s not the case in Rockport’s latest Bridgeport boat shoe, designed by DJ Cassidy and launched at the East Hampton Blue & Cream store this past Saturday. One of our favorite celebrity DJs appeared in an ad for the shoe company in 2008 and has remained a fan, so when the company offered him the opportunity to design his own pair, he jumped on board. Celebrating Cassidy’s snazzy new boat shoe with the DJ design were Russell Simmons, Ryan Leslie, Lyor Cohen, Andre Harrell, Swizz Beatz and Paul Sevigny. He drew inspiration from his two biggest influences - both fashion and musically - Run DMC and Michael Jackson. So what do a pair of shoes like this look like? If you frequent the nightclubs out here, we’re sure you’ve seen some unusual fashions. Florescent pants. Hot pants. No pants. But you probably have never seen anything like this: The built-in bikini jeans. This Asian sensation is causing mayhem in the Eastern world already and considering the amount of thongs we are forced to view see when we go out to clubs at night, we think these might solve the problem. Because if you’re going to flaunt it anyway, why not make it a bit more respectable? Afterall, these at least offer a bit more coverage. More »

“Best 2k I Ever Spent!” Making Out With Bottles Of Champagne At AXE Lounge At Dune

This club-goer, spotted Saturday night at AXE Lounge at Dune really, really likes his champagne. It was love at first sip as he spent the night getting frisky with his bottle of Perrier-Jouët. All other fist-pumping, vodka-guzzling, girl-macking club activities were put on hold so he could spend some quality time alone with his bubbly. He even paraded the bottle around the club showing it off to DJ MOS in the DJ Booth, and other club-goers including Dune owner Matt Shendell and DJ Cassidy.

“Best 2k I Ever Spent!” Breaking After Entering At Dune
Clubbing can get intense. Dancing on tables, climbing on banquettes, pushing your way through crowds. But at Dune, there’s a whole new level of danger if you decide to grasp onto one of their famous ropes. Now we’ve seen it done before. Pretty girls swinging from those things like their Tarzan’s long lost Jane. But apparently things didn’t go in the same direction for this guy. Thanks to a GofG reader who sent in these pics, we found out what led up to this classic club disaster, so we can send some warning your way. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to derive any clear guidelines from the photos except to try and keep your clothes on. We’re not sure how the two correlate, but if keeping your shirt on will help you from dissembling the club before the night ends, sounds like a plan to us. Whatever, you can always just blame it on Cisco Adler, who was also in attendance at AXE Lounge at Dune this exact same night. We all know how good he is at keeping his clothes on in pictures…. or not.

For Heat, a Celebration of the New Ellen Hermanson Breast Center Southampton Hospital this past Saturday, Steven Klein opened his home to friends, celebs, and fellow good-goers. The greens of his Bridgehampton abode held tents that housed Lindsay Lohan, Daphne Guinness, Amy Sacco, Donna Karan, Kim Cattrall, Andre Balazs, Fabiola Beracasa, Richie Notar, and Julie Ratner, to name some of the fashionable guests who came out to support the good cause. With only a few weeks left until summer’s end, Hamptons hot-spots are filling up each weekend with club-crawlers on a mission: To dance atop as many objects besides the dance floor as possible, to fist pump until moving your arms the next morning is impossible, and to guzzle as much booze as you can handle before reaching black out status and calling it a night. This guy spotted at AXE Lounge at Dune Friday night was on an obvious mission of his own, however.

“Best 2k I Ever Spent!” Celebrating Matt Shendell’s F-A-B-O-L-O-U-S Birthday At Dune
[Fabolous flips the bird for Dune. Photos by KirillwasHere] Do rap stars usually show up to your birthday bash with the rest of your party-hopping buddies? No? Well, if your Matt Shendell they do. Fabolous made his way to the Hamptons Saturday night to perform for the AXE crowd at Dune while celebrating his new album Loso’s Way. Culture Shoq was also in attendance adding their own flavor to the bash hosted by Asics and Perrier-Jouet with DJ Jesse Marco manning the turn tables. While the crowd was busy guzzling bottles, tearing up the banquettes, and snapping pics of Fabolous with their Blackberrys, Matt let loose with his pals during another ordinary day on the job for the club owner and nightlife aficionado.
