[DJ Cassidy has the moves and the style. Go HERE for more pictures via DJ Cassidy] When it comes to most big name brand collaborations, the celebrity usually just hands their name over to the brand and doesn’t take much part in the whole design process. That’s not the case in Rockport’s latest Bridgeport boat shoe, designed by DJ Cassidy and launched at the East Hampton Blue & Cream store this past Saturday. One of our favorite celebrity DJs appeared in an ad for the shoe company in 2008 and has remained a fan, so when the company offered him the opportunity to design his own pair, he jumped on board. Celebrating Cassidy’s snazzy new boat shoe with the DJ design were Russell Simmons, Ryan Leslie, Lyor Cohen, Andre Harrell, Swizz Beatz and Paul Sevigny. He drew inspiration from his two biggest influences - both fashion and musically - Run DMC and Michael Jackson. So what do a pair of shoes like this look like? Cassidy considers the greatest outfit of all time to be Michael Jackson’s look in the “Billie Jean” video: Black leather suit, red bow tie, pink shirt, pink socks… More »
[Photos by JOE SCHILDHORN for PMC] If you’ve ever got stuck in traffic on the way to the Hamptons or made a pit stop at the Louis Vuitton store in Manhasset on your way out here you know that it’s a truly impressive shopping spot. So it’s no wonder Details Magazine chose the store to host an event with LL Cool J this past Saturday, even if it wasn’t the typical New York venue. While most of us were cruising the racks of Blue & Cream, Intermix, and TBD, celebs like Ashanti and DJ Cassidy were checking out what LV had to offer in Manhasset. While we didn’t spot LL Cool J in the Hamptons Saturday night, we’re sure more than a few of the guests at the LV event made their way out here after leaving the store that night. More »
[DJ Cassidy turns 29 in style!] via guestofaguest.com:
Decked out in a custom Paul Stuart red linen tuxedo, DJ Cassidy threw a birthday bash set for the books. First, it was held at the NYC Public Library! Second, Bobby Brown came out of nowhere to do a special performance. Also, Jay-Z was in the house, amongst many GofG fans (like Carson who interviewed Cassidy last week, and took a break from the Hamptons to make it to the party). JT White scored the photos. MORE>>>>
[Photo via GuestofaGuest] Even with AXE Lounge’s impressive line up of DJs for the summer season (and almost equally impressive cloud of man musk at the door), there was one name that really stood out to us when we were sent over our first look at who would be hitting up their DJ booth. DJ Cassidy has created sweet music for the ears of just about every celebrity and who’s-who around, and we’re not just talking within the hip-hop world. Oprah, J.Lo, Diddy, the MTV Music Awards… The President?! The Native New Yorker who is one of the world’s most well-known DJs, and who was in action at AXE just this last Saturday, talks to us about Obama’s inauguration, relationships, vacation spots, producing, fashion, and well, just about everything… except Beyonce and JayZ’s wedding that is. So close!

[DJ Cassidy. Photo via PMc] Our GofG readers picked AXE Lounge as their favorite Memorial Day Weekend Hotspot and now the club is working over time to deliver AXE-tastic weekends all summer long. Last Friday, they brought in sorta cool Nick Cannon and we hear DJ Cassidy is next up to brave the haze of man spray while taking over the turn tables. The highly sought-after celebrity DJ has spun for parties thrown by Russell Simmons, Jay-Z, Naomi Campbell, Diddy, J-Lo, Oprah, and even President Obama. More »
