Meanwhile in Springs… This weekend is the 41st annual Artists of the Springs Invitational Exhibition at Ashawagh Hall. 140 local artists, including big names like Eric Ernst, Ralph Carpentier, Lew Zacks, Stephanie Brody Lederman, James DeMartis, John Capello, Gerry Giliberti, and Monica Banks, are each contributing one piece, which will make for a varied, and very personal show.

You can meet the artists at tonight's opening reception, which goes from 4-7. The exhibition itself lasts through August 17th, but it's recommended you come early on, as the art tends to sell quickly. Good luck and happy huntings!

Rachelle and I recently were saved by a man in Springs, and fell in love with his bayside cottage to boot. So peaceful, and really lovely, with loads of cattails, whippoorwills, and a  narrow white sand and pebble shoreline. I was reminded of Cape Cod, and the little houses that wedge themselves into the dunes. Now you have a chance to rent one, for the Cape Codesque price of $3,000/week.
