Top Summer Movies To Live By… Long After The Season’s Over

Or, eh, well ok, we get it, we’re not quite sure what you do then, but we have an alternative for you. And if you’re just too burnt for the sun from this summer, there’s no better way to seek refuge and still enjoy those last few days than a good old fashioned movie. While we’re out prancing around on the pristine beaches of the Hamptons, chowing down on perfectly cooked burgers and dancing around till the sun’s nearly up like summer may never come again, you can enjoy these final days of the season with our list of the Top Summer Movies. So here’s some of the best of the best, including our own personal office picks. Turn up the air, break out the aloe for that burn, and try not to weep - summer’s not over quite yet!

We’ve heard countless stories, seen endless amounts of photos and have even made a few trips ourselves to the AXE-tastic Southampton hot spot, Axe Lounge at Dune, but what better way to get the full experience than with a surprise birthday party for one of our very own. Especially since we’re pretty sure there is no other way GofG’s Carson Griffith would prefer to spend her birthday in the Hamptons than with giant sparklers, New York City DJ Nick Cohen, as much champagne as a birthday girl could ever wish for, her closest friends, co-workers, and this guy along with the huge crowd of man-spray wearing, fist pumping, rump shaking AXE Loungers.

We’re Happy To Be Away From The City This Week Because…
[Photo via flickr] It’s really eff-ing hot! As a matter of fact, it is going to be so hot this week that ice furniture is necessary in order to take a break from the heat. These two kids were spotted “chillin out” in the middle of Union Square sitting on two solid blocks of ice. While it may be scorching hot in New York, we thankfully always have the beach to help us cool off. In the event that your air conditioning seems to break the same day temperatures reach above 90 degrees, you can always play in an open fire hydrant for free or shell out the big bucks for a private rooftop pool membership More »

[Picture via Pamela Viola] I’ve been trying to get on a bike all summer. I swear it hasn’t been this hard since before I got my training wheels off. So when we saw this article today on Refinery 29 written by our friend Steven Rojas, we got pretty excited. Summer bicycles! And oh, are some of them pretty! We decided to each select our favorites (which were obviously totally different) in the hopes that the manufacturers would think seeing us riding along Main Street would be the best form of advertising for their play things and send some our way. Social Life Sees Twilight Stars And Stripes At Their Fourth Of July Gatsby Bash

Even though we didn’t see too many 1920’s themed costumes at the Social Life Magazine’s Gatsby: Under The Red, White and Blue July 4th Party on Saturday, we did see groups of pretty people sporting otherwise patriotic outfits and festively themed attire. Most importantly (at least in the opinion of every hot-blooded American girl there), we also saw Kellan Lutz, and as editor-in-chief Devorah Rose put it, God really did break the mold when he made the Twilight star.

We’re Happy To Be Away From The City This Week Because…
Well, we actually just were in the City. Last night. If you are a loyal Twitter follower of ours (as you should be! @GofGHamptons! Get on that!), you’ll know that @CarsonGriffith, @KLuciano, and @KendraMiaSeay all traveled to the city last night for a 12 hour venture to attend the Malcom Harris’ One Dress Launch Party with GofG, catch up on errands, and see friends. Since Kendra and I actually live in the city 3/4 of the year, it was great being back on our home turf, and we didn’t realize how much we missed the choas of city living, the high rises, and the general hussle and bussle of the city. But you know what? Nothing beats the Hamptons in the summer time. And there’s certainly one reason we are glad we are back here: HOLIDAY TRAFFIC! More »

As a pre-cursor to the Hamptons Golf Classic V, participants and those just in it for the entertainment or golf carts (like… us) came together for the Hamptons Golf Classic Dinner held at Savanna’s on Sunday night. The exclusive event was a small soiree, with delicious treats and a happy crowd soaking up the good weather.
