Jeff Goldstein On His Glaciers Of Ice

Here in the Hamptons there are many boutiques and labels which strive to capture the essence of patrician weekend-wear. While the old guard still sport their St. James stripes and lightweight Chanel tweeds and the unsure stick to Ralph, Lily, and whatever the Intermix mannequins are wearing, the young, the artsy, and the sartorially aware movers and shakers have learned to use Blue&Cream in East Hampton as their closet, stylist, and evening hangout par excellence.

Curious as to the origins of this rather avant-garde collective, we hit up the store’s creator and owner Jeff Goldstein and got him to give us the 411 on juxtaposition, staying ahead of the curve, and why Charlotte Ronson is his muse:

The Weekend Juice….

This weekend was jam packed with people trying to celebrate our nation’s Independence.  Besides the cops busting up Devorah’s party at the Socialife house (we got there too late!), here’s some other items you may or may not care to hear about:

At Dune:
A customer at Dune in Southampton sent over his idol Terrell Owens a bottle of Ace of Spades champagne. The gentleman that Owens is, he went over to say thank you and the generous customer gave him a $25K diamond rope necklace off his neck and told him that he was his favorite receiver because he came back from a severe injury to play in the Super Bowl against Philadelphia. (UM wow!)

What’s Blue, Cream, and (Izzy) Gold All Over?

Saturday evening Rachelle and I stopped by Izzy Gold’s trunk show at Jeffery Goldstein’s perenially buzzing Blue and Cream. I’d never met Goldbar’s music guru, but he, wearing an IG teeshirt, was very affable. Izzy’s shirts are very hipster/streamlined graphic/urban-outfitteresque, and fit in very well with B&C’s posh-streetwear aesthetic.

Certainly the crowd - Kim Nochols, Alan Philips, Aimee Harris, Christina Cibetta, Devorah Rose, the very sideburned Chris Braidy, owner Jeff Goldstein and publicist Tamie Peters Thomas, Rich Thomas, Lizzy Rosenberg, and Emily Brill seemed to be feeling them. More »
