Reality star, music artist, philanthropist and of course, party legend. Sir Ivan lives up to his name once again with CASTLESTOCK 2009, his party to benefit his charity, the Peaceman Foundation. Every year, Sir Ivan throws an over-the-top party at his Water Mill estate, “the Playboy Mansion of the East Coast”, where guests partake in a lavish event at his fully decked out castle. This year the theme was “Castlestock”, in honor of the 40th anniversary of Woodstock. Shuttle buses transported guests up to the gates of Sir Ivan’s castle (which has appeared on travel channels, documentaries and reality shows) where they were transported into what seemed to be Woodstock ‘09. Party-goers got to celebrate outside Sir Ivan’s 15,000 square foot home, complete with a drawbridge, surrounding his pool, bungalows, and lawn. More »
[Pictures by ADRIEL REBOH] If you haven’t yet experienced the drum circle that comes around every Monday in the Hamptons, it’s about time you give it a try. Newly relocated as of last week to Ditch Plains in Montauk, it’s less crowded than the storm of people that had been arriving every week for the spectacle at Sagg Main. But don’t worry - the spectators are just as rowdy, energetic and the entertainment is just as much worth making the trek to Montauk if you aren’t already out there. Just now, the parking situation is a bit better… More »
[Ally Zarin, Jill Zarin, Ariel Moses, Jasmin Rosemberg. All photos by Patrick McMullan] The popular East Hampton boutique Blue & Cream is always stock full of the who’s-who in the Hamptons, and this past Saturday was certainly no exception, as the store held an outside trunk show featuring Shawn Warren jewelry, with a portion of all proceeds benefitting the Cardiovascular Research Foundation. Hosting the afternoon gathering was Melissa Berkelhammer, Ariel Moses, Liam McMullan and daddi-o Patrick McMullan (who also photographed the event), Jasmin Rosemberg, and Ally Zarin. More »
[Picture via CobraSnake] Did you know that the Hamptons has only one K-12 private school? You would think this place would be stock full of them. Then again, not many people stick around after the summer season. The Ross School (yes, the same one that you see on plenty of event and party invitations) is located in East Hampton, and has less than 400 kids enrolled in grades 5-12… More »
[Photo by ADRIEL REBOH for PMc] Anna Wintour is no stranger to the Hamptons, as she normally pops her bobbed head in a few times every summer, but we have yet to have her make a prominent appearance this season, so we were happy to see some great shots of her at the 2009 Hamptons Designer Showcase this past Saturday, held at a private residence in Southampton. The editor-in-chief of American Vogue, who is seen as the end-all in fashion, stepped out in yet another gorgeous frock. Well, at least this is one sunny locale that her round-the-clock signature sunglasses don’t look out of place… More »

It was far from a typical night at Pink Elephant on Saturday as art aficionado, boy about town, and GofG fave David Chines headed East with friends over the weekend to celebrate his 24th birthday. Ariel Moses hosted the evening which started with a private dinner at Day & Night Restaurant Beach Club, followed by a bash at Pink Elephant where the b-day party go-ers skipped the debauchery inside for a party of their own as they took over Pink’s outdoor deck for “pretty much the best birthday party ever”. Guests including Nick Dietz, Douglas Marshall, Sheehan Raab, Adriel Reboh, Briana Swanson, Jarret Moses, Zev Norotsky, and many more came by with lots of birthday love for Mr. Chines.

At the beginning of every month out east there are two things I look forward to: The new release of Social Life Magazine AND the Issue Release Party at the Social Life Estate in Watermill. The two go together better than peanut butter and jelly. Early August was no exception as the east end jet-setters pulled themselves away from the BH Polo matches to get ready to celebrate Polo player Chris Del Gatto’s Social Life Cover at the SL Estate.
This is the one party that you always have to get to on time or you won’t be getting in. OR, you might get in but you have to worry whether your Porsche out front is getting towed. By the time I left I watched the angry cops taking pleasure in towing luxurious cars like the blue Porsche convertible that was parked next to the driveway. Ironically, the cops were not toying with the Hondas or Fords. Clearly some selective animosity there!
