Dan’s Paper Says…

You know that horrid “Slow down or you will be shot (with a radar gun)” sign that greets motorists entering Southampton? The sign that no one, apart from the SHPD, has shown any support for. Well, Dan Rattiner has come up with an excellent solution: replace the radar cop with the old dummy cop that used to guard East Hampton back in the 1980’s.

Unlike the radar cop, Manny Quinn was a gentle reminder to slow down and a subtler indication of police presence. Manny was retired after many years of reliable and friendly service, but I’m sure he’d be down for a resurrection.
