You know all the good houses get snatched up quick for next season out here in the Hamptons. That’s why we thought we’d help you start looking now. If you’re in the market for a big old summer share, than we may have just the house for you! Sadly enough, we never actually had the opportunity to go check out any of the 09′ share houses this year, but this one sure looks like a beaut’. More»

via guestofaguest.com: Ready to count down the days until summer returns and your trips to the Hamptons every weekend start all over again? Um, we are, so what better way to celebrate the long torturous 9 month countdown than with a party on the ninth day of the ninth month of the ninth year of the century. Here are a few party throwing tips involving the essentials: nine friends, nine drinks, and a $99.09 Vegas wedding…

[Picture via Blue & Cream] Sweatsuit, that is. Because it was jacket weather this morning, not only out here, but in Manhattan as well, so we hear. Where has our precious summer gone?! Well, we refuse to reform just yet. And while we are about to make our way back to the concrete jungle of NYC in just a few hours and immerse ourselves in the chaos that is Fashion Week madness, we still refuse to give up on our summer memories. So go on and throw on this head-to-toe Lamptons sweatsuit from Blue & Cream. Yes, the sweatpants and the hoodie. Because this suit will serve as a great reminder all winter long of all those other days this summer you played around in a different type of suit - the type you can swim in. And all we gotta say is - at least it’s not a business suit.

Okay, so maybe The Princess Diner can’t really be considered “off the eaten path.” Especially since you have to drive by it on your way to, from, or during most of your Hamptons adventures, but we had no choice but to include it as our last featured grub spot. A New York City style diner in the middle of the Hamptons that is seemingly always open every time you need to run in with friends before your night out or stop by for a late brunch after a day on the beach is perfection as far as we’re concerned… More»

[Photo via Psych Services] Just in case you never got around to bookmarking all of our reading suggestions this summer, we have a solution for you: Here they are, all in one place. So next time you are looking for a new book, you know where to go. It may not be for some Jitney reading anytime soon, but there’s plenty of park benches in New York City to occupy with a good book. Think of it as a literary cheat-sheet, or a reading round-up, per say. More»

[All photos by LISA WAGNER for BlogHamptons] Sunday was a sad, sad day for club-crawlers across the East End as Axe Lounge at Dune celebrated its final weekend of the summer season. These guys were especially heart broken as their days of bonding over bottles of booze while showing off their fist-pumping techniques, hitting on scantily-clad girls, and partying until they can’t see straight behind the walls of the Southampton hot spot are officially over. Now they will have to wait until next summer to participate in all of the AXE-tastic booze-filled mayhem because where else will they find such a place…named after a can of man spray.

via guestofaguest.com: So, Montauk is known for their surfing and Cornwall is known for their belly-boarding (apparently?). Afterall, that is where the Belly Boarding World Championships are held. I fell pretty silly that I never knew that, don’t you? I also feel pretty silly I never knew there wasn’t a specific uniform you had to wear. I thought there would be regulations and guidelines you had to follow but apparently anything flies - including sashes and tutus. Check out what else these ladies were rocking…More>>>

Marcia and Richard Mishaan hosted a private dinner for the screening of “Precious” for director Lee Daniels at their home of in Sagaponack amongst an elite Hamptons crowd including Peggy Siegal, Tory Burch, Helen Lee Schifter, Andre Harell, Ross Bleckner , Daniel Benedict, Jackie Astier, and many more. Also in attendance was hip-hop star Kanye West who finally made it to the East End in head to toe white with girlfriend Amber Rose in a jaw dropping (even for this Hamptons crowd) backless snake skin dress. We pride ourselves here on our wide array of beach reads. There’s definitely books in our GofG “library” we know you’ve never heard of, ones that were probably on your English mandated reading list, photo books, and of course, classics like Judy Blume’s Summer Sisters. We saw a few copies on the Jitney and a beach towel or two, but on the off chance there were people out there who still hadn’t cracked open this novel about these two friends journey into adulthood, we thought we’d make sure to get it on your “To-Do” list. [Picture via Aaron Arrkelin] Today is “Tumbleweed Tuesday”. And there’s no better place, in our humble opinions, to mourn the loss of summer, than in the deserted Hamptons, after everyone’s packed up their warm weather whites and seasonal seersuckers and headed back to the city. Yes, it may seem like it could be lonely, but it’s much better than the alternative. More»
