Rodriguez Rocks The Surf Lodge

The Surf Lodge saw its usual crowd of hipsters, socialites, locals, and families turn out in droves for this past sunday’s Rodriguez concert. The elusive rock/folk stalwart (he’s been playing since the mid sixties), sounds like a trippier, often very political version of Bob Dylan with dashes of José Feliciano: the words are bitter, the delivery and melodies sweet. Sunday, he and his band played to the setting sun, a dozing dog, and the dancing feet of their Hypnotiq-fueled, sun kissed audience, one of whom was inexplicably sporting a tiara. Hmmph.
