Two of this weekend’s buzziest events are the American Cancer Society’s Denim and Diamonds Gala, and the East End Hospice’s The Golden Age of Hollywood: The Roaring Twenties. Which warrants your attendance? I’ll let you decide.
Denim and Diamonds
- For: American Cancer Society
- Location: Diamond Ranch, Water Mill
- Honoring: RHOM’s Count and Countess De Lesseps, Dr. Elana Kapenhas-Valdes, Roy Scheider
- Activities: Silent and live auction, dancing, live music, marveling at how quickly one can get to Texas these days
- Scene: An older (but wrinkle-free) crowd than the EEH’s
- Wining and Dining: Food&Co is catering
- Price: seats start at $500 and a table is $5,000
- For: The East End Hospice
- Location: Sandacres Estate, Quogue
- Honoring: Mrs. Philomene A. Gates
- Activities: Casinos, Live and Silent Auction, deciding who’s fringe has the most flair
- Scene: a committee member tipster promises a young, attractively preppy crowd, which explains the post-bash transport and free admission to Dune
- Wining and Dining: Starr Boggs is providing a banquet
- Price: $125 for those under 35, $200 for those older
EAST END HOSPICE.
Quogue vs. Watermill? we know which one wins.
The choice seems obvious to me, unless you want to spend the night with the same old hamptons crowd you see at every party with another big minus: a cast member of RHONY.
Your Quogue Connection,
I agree with you on which party to attend, but give the countess some credit, she *cough* excuse me, her husband, must have given a lot of money to the ACS to be honored. It is a very important cause.
I agree with you on which party to attend
I agree, Quogue is the place to be for a young-preppy scene (whale pants anyone?), and you can\’t beat the $125 ticket plus free after-party in Southhampton.
I heard you can still buy tickets at the door tonight
