Tripoli Patterson
Tripoli Patterson is a pro surfer. He’s lived in Bali and New Zealand. He puts together fantastic exhibitions for artists he discovers in his travels. His tee-shirt line’s like Christopher Holland’s on acid. New York’s hipster elite love him. So too do older, more established gallery owners. Among the east end’s young wave riders, he is God. And he is only 24.

Acria At Steven Klein’s

[The Gang at Acria]

ACRIA (the AIDS Community Research Initiative of America), in conjunction with Vanity Fair and The Calvin Klein Collection hosted a cocktail party and silent auction last Saturday on the beautiful grounds of Steven Klein. The host committee included artists Ross Bleckner, Bruce Weber, and Linda Evangelista as well as America’s Most Smartest Model host Mary Alice Stephenson and Bravo TV’s Andy Cohen.

I have had the honor of partying with Steven Klein in past years in his famous tee-pee, but have never made an entrance like I did this weekend. He asked guests to enter from the side of his house which backs up to Channing Daughter’s Vinyard. After walking through the grape vines the guest entered the beautiful yard, acres long. The magnificent 25 foot tall party tee-pee he commissioned to be built years ago paled in comparison to the many tents set up for dancing and drinks.

Although Mr. Klein laid low all evening, the guest danced and drank while they browsed items donated by Calvin Klein, many local artists, and the showpiece being a large picture of Madonna taken by Steven Klein starting at $10,000.

This party proved, once again, to be one of the “not-to-miss” events of the summer.
