Our fun-filled day on the beach was cut short yesterday afternoon thanks to this massive storm forcing us to grumpily head back indoors. While it made for an awesome photo, we were less than thrilled about our day of sunshine coming to an end. The good news? Nothing but blue skies expected for the weekend. Have a fun summer photo you think should be on the site? Email us!
[A very soaked Roger Gladstone. Picture by PATRICK McMULLAN for PMc] Even the most interesting of parties can sometimes need a pick me up every now and then. And if you’ve ever told us you haven’t hoped that someone at a party made a slip, a spill, a slight trip into the pool to spice things up a bit - well, we might have to call your bluff on that one. While we think all the cannonballs and thigh-high H2O dance parties that have occurred so far this summer at the Social Life Estate seem to be at the swimmers own desire, regardless, when you mix booze and a pool you’re bound to get some disasters… More »
[Nacho Figueras. Photo via bigshotartist] What we thought was just another day at the tents during week three of the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge was quite the opposite for Amanda Taft, an LA-based blogger whose first visit to polo (and the Hamptons) quickly turned from disaster to Best.Trip.Ever. It all started with the decision to cab it to Blue Star Jet Field (she admitted that was a rookie move on her part) which obviously landed Amanda, with three girlfriends in tow, stranded at the field entrance by the time all the fun came to an end with no cabs in sight. As they watched the entire parking lot empty, with not one Polo-goer willing to offer up a ride, Nacho Figueras arrives to save the day and the story only gets better from here… More »
[Christie Brinkley rocking out for photographers. All photos by Rob Rich] Christie Brinkley was ready to rock Friday night for the highly anticipated Hamptons screening of It Might Get Loud at the Guild Hall in East Hampton. She was so ready in fact, that she busted out her air guitar before taking her seat to watch the film directed by Academy Award winner Davis Guggenheim (Inconvenient Truth). Christie Brinkley has been spotted in the Hamptons channeling her inner stage mom, having fun on the red carpet, and now showing off her invisible string-strumming skills. Hm…Is it possible we have a former cover girl turned Guitar Hero pro on our hands? More photos below and check back later today for full coverage from Friday night’s Hamptons screening.

[Photo via ehsandcastle] It is that time of the year again, Sandcastle and Sandsculpture contests are finally upon the Hamptons. Throughout the month of August, various contests will be taking place from Montauk all the way to Westhampton. Who knows, you might even see the GofGHamptons team entered in one of these competitions. A full list of upcoming sand contests below… More »
[Picture via Pamela Viola] I’ve been trying to get on a bike all summer. I swear it hasn’t been this hard since before I got my training wheels off. So when we saw this article today on Refinery 29 written by our friend Steven Rojas, we got pretty excited. Summer bicycles! And oh, are some of them pretty! We decided to each select our favorites (which were obviously totally different) in the hopes that the manufacturers would think seeing us riding along Main Street would be the best form of advertising for their play things and send some our way. Or… not. More »

[Left: Barron Hilton. Photo via MugShotCity. Right: PC Peterson. Photo via PopTower] Yes, it’s true, I’m addicted to Gohan. I admit it. But there are worse things I could be addicted to, like the $100 per lb lobster salad at Loaves & Fishes or Saturday night at the Drift Inn. But almost as mind-boggling to me as the bromance between Lindsay Lohan’s sperm-donor and Octo-dad is the insta-bond that formed between NYC Prep’s PC Peterson and Barron Hilton. More »
[All photos by SBE] Between the mass migration of people from New York City out to the Hamptons during the summer, the beautiful beaches, and the giant estates, the Hamptons during the summer turns into a place unlike anywhere else in the world. Therefore, if you have ever summered in the Hamptons, some of the items on this list of “You Know You Are Summering In The Hamptons When…” you will easily recognize and agree with. This is obviously a working list with weeks of summer left so if you have any other funny ideas to add to this list, feel free to share your thoughts… More »

Did we miss the memo about the Michael Kors store opening in Easthampton being 70s themed? Looks like these two on the left certainly didn’t. In their big, bold prints, they look like they’re ready for a cocktail party circa 30 some years ago. Whichever, we want to give props to Elliott Foote for his shiny loafers - we love the retro touch it adds. Hey Chris, didn’t you get the memo? While his simple combo of neutrals, and a button down with rolled up sleeves he looks color coordinated with his crew, but we’re not sure he’d be let into the disco in that outfit. Great for a store opening though!

With their pearly white smiles matching their tight tanks, this cluster of models added to the celebrity scenery perfectly at ACRIA’s annual “Cocktails at Sunset” presented by Calvin Klein Collection and Vanity Fair. Calvin Klein? Of course! How else did you expect a party to have such amazing specimens of mankind? More »
