Quogue Beach Club…A Slice Of Paradise
Quogue Beach Club is by far one of the cleanest places to relax on the beach. This Saturday, there wasn’t even a chance that my group would get me away from this place to go to Polo, albeit being the closing ceremony and even though I haven’t been to ONE all summer. This is what summer is about…
Stephanie Wei Reads Over Her Page Six Magazine Spread At The Inn Spot
From: guestofaguest.com:
The Post really does come out to Quogue. This Sunday, over eggs in Quogue’s Inn Spot we all watched as Stephanie pulled out the Page Six Magazine Issue featuring her with Ed Westwick.
Beware The Jellyfish!
Okay so they may not be causing as big of stir as the memorable Montauk Monster did this summer, but these tiny monsters are personally causing me a ton of grief. Saturday, at the Surf Club in Quogue, the conversation with my newest companion went something like this:
Friend after coming back from a dip in the ocean: “Man that was one of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve had in my life!”
Me: “What are you talking about?!”
Friend: “The jellyfish! They are all over!”
Me: “Yeah the little bits that float by? Stop being such a baby! I’ve been in the ocean the last 3 days, just don’t let it bother you, become one with the jellyfish pieces.”
Twenty minutes later I get in….I realize the extent of the Jellyfish (you literally feel like you are swimming through a tub of noodles). it is impossible to swim, and there is definitely no “becoming one with the jellyfish”. I hope this whole situation gets sorted out by the weekend….because I absolutely HATE admitting when I’m wrong.
To my inquisitive nephew William: THIS is what a Jellyfish looks like. I love you.
Photo Of The Day: Beaches Of Quogue
The Beaches of Quogue are breathtaking. I just got back from a LOOOONG run on this one above.
Quogue Boys Representing U.S.A. In Beijing
In Quogue, it seems like everywhere I turn there is someone showing support for their Winklevoss twins. Cameron and Tyler are in Beijing currently racing in the men’s pair for our country…they just won first place in the men’s pair Repechage race. You can watch them in the video above. All eyes will be on the Quogue boys this Wednesday as they move on to the semi finals!

Mapping Out The Western Edge Of The Hamptons
From all looks of it, I think I made a good decision to stay out East today. So good, in fact, that I’m thinking I will stay in beautiful Quogue all week long. I am just starting to realize the lack of coverage we have from Westhampton/Quogue areas. Thankfully, my Quogue Connection has given me loads of pointers. I will be hitting up Dockers for the Lobster bake in East Quogue, the Bev Cardo store in Quogue, the field club and the Shinnecock Yatch Club. I’m also going to check out the school house here as I heard it’s the oldest in the country! If you have any other tidbits from me for this week as I romp around the Western most parts of the Hamptons, please don’t hesitate to inform!
Oh, and thanks for the handy map Quogue Connection!
Wild Night for Wild Life In Quogue
Go Here for more photos from this event.
A wonderful night was had by all last Saturday night at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge’s Annual Summer Benefit “Wild Night for Wildlife”. Over 600 guests strolled the grounds of the 1900’s-era Wiccecomac in Quogue, home of Anthony and Jennifer Oldfield, who have done a great job on the restoration of the house and grounds, including a beautiful sunken garden that guests were drawn to all night. The evening included silent and live auctions of art, unique experiences, and many items to help winners enjoy all that the East End has to offer. Items off the grill and sushi were just some of the delectables provided by Sydney’s, and guests danced the night away to the sounds of the Sweetwater Orchestra. The bartenders were serving some thing new; Ty-ku, a sake citrus liquor - really good!

East End Hospice Shows Us Their Hospitality In Quogue
Go HERE for more photos of this event by Zev Starr-Tambor.
When our Quogue connection Annunziata Sahid told us about a certain roaring twenties gala being one of the parties of the season, we were intrigued. Quogue is where the real preppies are, she told us, and real preppies know how to party like no one’s watching. Hmm…we thought; a pretension-free evening might be just what we needed, especially when it’d be benefiting such an incredible organization.
The East End Hospice provides need-blind care for the terminally ill and support for their families. Additionally, every summer the hospice hosts a week-long camp, Camp Good Grief, for children who’ve lost a loved one. So we left the Diamonds and Denim benefit and the Nature Conservatory’s Beaches and Bay’s Gala to everyone else to cover….we were headed west to Quogue.

Sunrise In Quogue
Susan Lucci’s romantic seaside retreat in Quogue took the cover story in last week’s Hamptons Magazine. Quogue, one of the least “Hampton-y” spots of the Hamptons quickly won over Lucci’s heart in the mid 80s and her clan has been making summer memories there ever since.
“It’s the quietest place in the Hamptons. A place with lots of traditions and generations. There’s still a sweetness there.” Lucci says.
These beaches have been the spot of many the “magical” morning for the Lucci’s. We got a taste of that magic this weekend, and man was it sweet!

Take Out A Book And Tone Your Butt, All In One Trip
Despite the cloudy, rainy weather these past few days, the weekend forecast promises sunny skies and scorching temperatures. The long-awaited summer weather means swimsuit season is well underway, so what better way to get in shape for the beach than with yoga (especially since a regular yoga regimen not only tones muscles, but increases flexibility and improves balance, sleep, immunity, and posture)? The Quogue Library is offering a $5 yoga class Saturday morning, and the Hampton Bays Public Library is holding a session of hatha yoga on Monday. So, what are you waiting for? Get your butt to the gym–I mean, the library.
