HAMPTONS POLO
Photo Of The Day: More From Evian’s Last Taste Of Polo
Katie Lee Joel hosted Evian’s Last Taste of Polo and gave away signed cookbooks to Nacho Figueras and his wife, food from Mr.Chow, Four Seasons, Surf Lodge, and Bagatelle, and a visit from Hugh Grant with his new girlfriend Catherine Fulmer. He actually bought her and a few other girls shots of Milagro and was so sweet.
Other notable guests included Beth Ostrosky, Brittny Gastineau, and Sam Talbot.

At The Final Bridgehampton ‘08 Polo Match
Summer’s not over yet! (I promise you!) But, Bridgehampton Polo is.

At Polo, They Eat Well and Drink Well; A Tale of Latin American Cuisine and Champagne

Although urban legend has it that the bevy of Hamptons/Manhattan socials who attend Bridgehampton Polo don’t really eat (which is how they look as good as they do), such was not the case last Saturday. James Beard Award Nominee, Chef Doug Rodriguez prepared a delectable spread of food to “snack on” throughout the matches and I observed some notables going back for 3rds and 4ths! Game 5 of Polo was appropriately sponsored by Perrier-Jouët, which certainly helped to wash down the gourmet grub.
The crowd was impeccable on Saturday and I got a chance to catch up with Nascar’s Tim George Jr, trade fashion tips with Katrina Peebles, and muse over weekend plans with Social Life’s Devorah Rose. Then there was Teddy John, Brianna Swanson, Becca Marcus, Emily Brill, Ariel Moses, Stephanie Wei, Adriel Reboh, Clint Spaulding, Tamie Peters Thomas, Rich Thomas and on and on and on…I walked by David Lauren and Lauren Bush and wished they’d call me over to say hi (they would actually have to know me to do that); all while managing to keep a safe distance from Michael Lohan – this year’s unofficial Polo Mascot (as deemed by me).

The Bush Girls Do The Polo Fields

The Bush girls made an apperance at Polo this weekend, and I have to say…they looked pretty good. I loved Lauren’s crisp outfit, and Ashley’s dress. With their big smiles full of pearly whites, these ladies were glowing on Saturday.
More Bridgehampton Polo Shenanigans….

This week’s polo match turned into the usually social gathering, which overshadowed the game itself. The grounds were too wet to conduct the proper match, but this didn’t stop Nacho Figueras, the handsome player, from modeling the newest Olympic Ralph Lauren Sportswear that GofG got the exclusive on. Katie Lee Joel was busy chatting up the likes of the VIP people in the tents about her new cook book. She was heard saying, “Cooking is the way to catch any man.” Well, she surely knows!
Then Beth Ostrosky, the fiance of Howard Stern was caught outside the tent being photographed alongside Ali Lohan, who seemed content chatting it up with actress Rachel Heller. Rachel was complimenting her music and reality show “Living Lohan”. Dina was busy being friendly to other guests and taking care of her younger son, who found his new T Mobile Sidekick VERY entertaining.

Polo Is Canceled But The Party Goes On

The brief bit of rain this past Saturday morning was enough to cancel the polo matches, but as MBPC spokesman Jeff Rubenstein told the Hangin’ in the Hamptons camera, “we still have 3,000+ people who come out on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy cocktails from our sponsors.” Judging from the footage, he wasn’t exaggerating; the grounds were as brimming as ever with the beautiful and the sloshed, ample proof that the horsies and their rawther attractive riders are only another excuse to day drink and freebie-hunt. Kid’ing around at Bridgehampton Polo
Go HERE for more photos from this event.
Normally the last place you would EVER think to bring a toddler or a youngster is to the VIP tent at the Mercedes-Benz Bridgehampton Polo Challenge. (Unless the VIPs themselves were the kids.) History was made this past weekend on the Blue Star Jets field as Stride Rite sponsored the FIRST EVER “Kids Day” at Bridgehampton Polo Club. What did this entail? Kristin Cavalari hosted the festivities with Games from Space Odyssey USA- Family Entertainment Center, Balloons in the shapes of animals and FREE shoes! That’s right, Collections by Stride Rite had a table for kids to design their own pair of Stide Rites under the tent as adults downed mini bottles of Perrier-Jouët or Hpnotiq Bubbles n’ Blue cocktails. Clearly, treats for everyone as we watched Team Pony Express face off with Team Black Watch.

Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras Polos Us Over
Yeah, the (only) polo superstar wouldn’t look out of place on a supermarket romance. In a billowing, unbuttoned linen shirt. Raven locks a’ flowing. Endless onyx eyes gazing heartfelt into the bosom of a buxom blonde. Instead, he’s in the gilded saddle of Ralph Lauren Black, rocking out to U2. Sweet.
Bridgehampton Polo Update: Cotton Candy, Colored Wayfarers, and Champagne

This past Saturday, the Bridgehampton Polo Grounds was a family place, thanks to shoe boutique Stride Rite and its bevy of face painters, cotton candy machines, games from Space Odyssey USA, and bejeweled, celeb-designed gameboys. On the field, Team Black Watch duked it out against Team Pony Express, while Perrier-Joeut-fueled grown-ups divot-stomped, hobnobbed with ex-reality stars, and preened for photos atop a souped up Mercedes-Benz.

Bring Your Babies To The Polo Field
Well, judging from pictures past, you already are, but this Saturday Stride Rite is sponsoring a Kids Day at the fields. Reading the press announcement made me laugh -my siblings and I always got our shoes at the Stride Rite in Wellesley, picked out and shoved onto our feet by a very grumpy fleet of oldsters. My brother once told one of them he looked like a Paul McCartney Cabbage Patch doll, which, veracity aside, didn’t go over all that well.
Anyways, Space Odyssey USA’s providing some pretty sick entertainment for the little ‘uns, leaving you to watch the horsies in peace. For a second. Right after spilling your third cup of Perrier-Jouet over Nicky Hilton.
