From Plum TV: Match or no match, the question we had was whether Hamptonites like their champagne at polo. To find out, we eavesdropped at the Perrier-Jouet bar. Looking like an ant hill on a busy day, we think we found our answer.
I was gone this weekend. So I went straight to the number one source of knowledge on all things Hamptons to get the scoop on what happened, Plum TV’s Dan Honan. Here’s what he had to say:
“NOTHING happened this weekend. I went to Polo and watched women in high heels traipse through the mud. People were getting hammered at the social life party. Some people went to the talkhouse and said the ratio of woman to man was 5 to 1. They got lucky. Yesterday we interviewed Governor Paterson on shelter island. Seinfeld threw out the first pitch at a baseball game in Sag Harbor, and I sadly didn’t make it to the Barcelona drunken boat party. Instead, bbq-ing with friends. Actually made for a very nice weekend. Beautiful sunset in Springs last night. Missed you”
Phew. At least I will be able to sleep tonight, knowing it will all be there for me next weekend…Thanks Daniel!
Where we say attack, Jupp Kerckerinck zur Borg of the Shark Research Institute says “taste bite.” Follow along as he describes a taste bite/attack he witnessed from a 14-foot Thresher shark on a diver. [Plum TV]
Those looneytoons over at Plum continue to amaze me. You thought the Discovery Channel’s “Shark Week” was exciting? Take a look at Plum’s latest “Shark Week” installment of an actual shark attack! YIKES!
“Hot off the Whitney Biennial, artist Bert Rodriguez offered an act of performance art perhaps never before seen in the Hamptons … he had himself buried as a tree.” [Plum TV]
I missed this guy, but love how his dealers have to “nurture” their artist…literally, as they were feeding, watering and wiping his face. “It just kind of felt right for me to be a tree. I wanted to know what a tree felt like.” Classic.
If I was able to make it mandatory that everyone watch this video before they can read my site I would…It is so darn funny! It’s “Shark Week” on Plum TV and you have to hear the words of wisdom from one of the oldest living shark fisherman.
Luigi Tadini is one of the coolest cats around. No seriously, nicest guy ever, with impeccable style. Did you know he’s planning a BIG party this summer? Plum TV was there to capture the fun (Claire and I were a small part in the fun, experiencing some lobster rolls and paddle boarding in Montauk with the superstar).
Doug joined Nick Gregory and I on this weekend’s Plum TV segment at SCOPE Hamptons Art Fair. He was on hand to give us the Juice on all things Polo, Super Saturday, Marlene Deitrich, and what the Kennedy’s were up to…oh he also had the perfect opportunity to call me out on my Target attire…what a good looking guy!
Yesterday, Douglas Marshall was the guest of honor for my segment on Plum TV (stay tuned for video later on)….We were at the amazing art event Scope Hamptons. Here we are behind a lovely Marilyn Monroe installment, which we found fitting considering this weekends tribute to Robert Kennedy.
I will have a follow up piece with more details on the event but for now, here’s some of the behind the scenes Plum TV action:
By now you’ve all heard the news: Kelly Killoren Bensimon is the official New Real Housewives of New York….but, more importantly, she’s one of our favorites on Plum TV. This is a great video that our friend Dan Honan had to leave drinks with us on Thursday night at Surf Lodge so that he could go and edit. Great work Dan. Youtube loves you, Gawker loves you, and so do we!
