While Lounging Poolside…

[Photo via TheKitchn] Sip this. Based on it’s ingredients, the Michelada, known south of the border as the “Mexican kissing drink” might be a bit questionable. A beer cocktail with hot sauce, lime, and salt? We know, sounds scary, but don’t be fooled. We found a mango version of the “beer margarita” which is sure to please while lounging poolside as long as you’re willing to sip adventurously. And with no hard liquor needed for this wild concoction, you wont run the risk of passing out by the pool before your night out gets started. Ingredients and directions below… More »

While Lounging Poolside…

[Photo via Sunset] Grill This. Quesadillas are the perfect snack to have while lounging poolside, because they are not only extremely flavorful but are such an easy finger food to eat. Depending on what time it is, you can adjust the recipe to be either a breakfast quesadilla, or a lunch snack to enjoy poolside. What’s even better is that you can also easily swap out some of the ingredients based on you or your guests’ likings… Since we are such huge fans of using the grill as much as you can during the summer, today’s recipe is for Grilled Chicken Eggplant Quesadillas... While Lounging Poolside…

[Photo via OCS] Grill This. Grilling fruit may sound weird at first, but don’t knock it until you have tried it. Over the weekend we visited a pick your own peach farm, and collected nearly ten pounds of perfectly ripe peaches. On the way home though, we thought, what in the world are we going to do with ten pounds of peaches!? Sure enough, they are countless things you can do with peaches and one of which is grill them. Today’s recipe is for Grilled Peaches With Mint and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Ingredients and directions, courtesy of OCS, below… More »

[Photo via londonderrynh] During the summer and into the fall, the Hamptons is known for having accessible fresh fruits and vegetables. There are numerous farms in Suffolk County which grow a wide assortment of  fruits and vegetables that you can then pick on your own. While Lounging Poolside…

[Photo by Quentin Bacon] Eat This. If you spend time in the Hamptons this summer and don’t at least try some of the locally caught seafood then you are truly committing a culinary sin. Today’s recipe is for Blackened Striped Bass with Corn Spoon Bread and Greens. This dish has a slight southern twang to it with the addition of corn bread, but it works nicely with the cooked fish. Striped Bass is native to the Northeast waters surrounding the Hamptons…

While Lounging Poolside…

[Photo by Susan Voisin] Savor This. If you know where to look, there are wild blueberry bushes scattered throughout the forests of the Hamptons. However, if you are not lucky enough to stumble upon blueberries of your own, you can always stop by a local Hamptons farmer’s market. With this nutritiously packed fruit in season, Blueberry Oat Bars are the perfect sweet treat… More »

While Lounging Poolside…

[Photo via Fatfreevegan] Grill this. You can cook a lot of things on the grill, but you probably never thought to cook salad on your fiery friend. We are not too sure who came up with the novel idea, but grilled romaine salad is surprisingly great tasting and easy to make. The grilling brings out a sweet taste in the vegetable and also adds a smoky note to the dish… More »
