A Look Inside Gurney’s Tuesday Night Beach Bonfires
[Photos via PJ Monte] It took us until the end of August to make it to Gurney’s Tuesday Night Beach Bonfire Party and it lived up to all expectations leaving us bummed we missed out on the fun at the Montauk staple all summer. The Beach Party had everything necessary for a relaxed Montauk night out while giving off the “I just stepped off the back of a cruise ship onto a tropical island” vibe. We found it appropriate to immediately order frozen cocktails upon arrival as it would have felt wrong not to… More »

Surf Lodge Welcomes Fall With September Sessions
[Photo via tcolla] Surf Lodge is capping off their outdoor Surf Cinema series Sunday night with an oldie, but a definite goodie. This weekend’s film was released in 2002, but still considered by some to be one of the best of its’ kind. September Sessions is a documentary created by surfer/musician Jack Johnson who followed a group of pro surfers with a camera surfing the waves of the Sumatra Islands. Sure you can watch this flick at home, but why do that when you can catch surfing legends on the outdoor big screen while lounging in the sand by the water in Montauk. More »

The Watermill Center Sings The Last Song Of Summer

[All photos by BILLY FARRELL for PMc]
We were not ready to the celebrate the “Last Song of Summer” Saturday afternoon, (GofG Hamptons is in a current state of denial that September has arrived) but there were plenty of socialites, celebrities, patrons, philanthropists, and Hampton locals who were. The Watermill Center hosted a benefit concert Saturday evening bringing the talents of Rufus Wainwright, Norah Jones, and Martha Wainwright to the stage at the Ross School. More photos below… More »

The Pre-Launch Of “Timeship: The Architecture Of Immortality” Can Stephen Valentine Make These Girls Live Forever?
[Photos by Adriel Reboh for PMc] Architect Stephen Valentine has plans to create immortality through architecture in the very near future and he was ready to celebrate (us all not dying, we assume) in Southampton Friday night at Pink Elephant. In two years, construction will begin for his Timeship, a center for pioneering research to “indefinitely expand the healthy human life span.” Also on board this ship of life? Oh, just a few near extinct species and some dead human bodies traveling to the future for “later re-animation”… Not. Kidding. It’s possible Mr. Valentine has seen one too many sci-fi flicks but either way, Hamptonites were ready to find out for themselves.

Hamptons Photo Of The Day: The 34th Annual Hampton Classic, And The Winner Is…

[Photos by BILLY FARRELL for PMc]
The 2009 Hampton Classic came to close Sunday afternoon and winner, McLain Ward, took home the $250,000 winning prize while making history as the FEI World Cup Qualifier for a record fourth time on his two-time Olympic gold medal horse, Sapphire, who we should mention is a 14 year-old mare. Apparently the old lady still has what it takes to keep up with the competition as Sunday marked the seventh win for Sapphire in 2009 alone. More photos below… More »
