The Jitney made our final pick for car of the day because there’s no denying it was the most popular vehicle in the Hamptons this summer rescuing many of you from the hot sticky city streets for an escape to the East End. This sparkling chrome two seat-er was spotted resting its’ wheels outside of Day & Night Restaurant Beach Club in Southampton. Although it might have a few years on other speed machines frequently seen jetting around the Hamptons, we’re sure it does its’ part keeping up with the competition. As much as we love our GofG Hamptons mobile, it doesn’t go very fast. Jumping behind the wheel of this silver roadster would be a nice change in pace.
Would you cruise around the East End in this classic convertible despite it’s pastel purple paint job? We would especially due to it’s shade of purple perfection. Old fashioned cars and flashy rides cover the Hamptons, but it’s not that often you spot hues of purple driving down the Montauk Highway making this automobile in Southampton a great find.
[Photo via TreeHugger] We’ve spotted the Green Truck parked outside of Surf Lodge a few times offering up gourmet all-natural foods for anyone craving an organic treat in Montauk. The mean green driving machine runs on previously used vegetable oil and aims to “save the planet one meal at a time” with their menu only using certified organic ingredients that are good for you and the environment.
[Photo by Mala Sander via Twitter] This turquoise and pink “yacht” was spotted floating along in Sag Harbor keeping company, and certainly standing out against, the other sail boats, speed boats, and yachts that frequent the Sag Harbor Cove. We can only imagine the adventures that this seemingly built-from-scratch water craft has seen. Do you know who the owner of this colorful double decker is…?
We couldn’t help but stare at this cherry red dream on wheels Saturday afternoon while walking down Jobs Lane in Southampton. And we weren’t the only ones. Even though cars like this are one of many on the East End, no one could resist walking by without getting an extra glimpse of its’ perfect interior condition, shiny finish, and sparkling clean wheels. Our convertible-themed week of Hamptons cars has sadly come to an end so we thought we would cap it off with this smoking hot fire engine red drop-top that we hope to see again with its’ spotless white rimmed wheels cruising around the East End this weekend.

The only time an SUV can truly get away with being topless is when it resembles some sort of off roading safari-like truck. This Hamptons car of the day spotted in Bridgehampton, has its’ top attached in the picture but can be removed if desired. Not only does this vehicle look like it can hold more than the Hamptons toughest streets but it’s decked out with some interesting bumper stickers. More pics below… More »
Keeping with this week’s convertible theme, this bright blue topless beauty was recently spotted and even in the dark, it was hard not to notice this beautiful antique sports car. Fortunately, the rain held out the same evening these pictures were taken so the blue-mobile escaped an unexpected and certainly undesirable shower. [Hamptons Cars]
Based on the cars we have recently spotted in the Hamptons, August’s hot and humid weather looks like it is here to stay. This may explain why there are more convertibles cruising around some of the Hamptons’ most popular streets.
