Our party-going GofG Hamptons readers have voted (582 of you to be exact!) and the winner has officially been decided. First place with 38% of the votes goes to (da da da da da drum roll please)…. the man-spray-loving Team AXE! Really? AXE?! Guess all that musky guy perfume is working in their favor and attracting the masses. More »
[Peter Mel, Balaram Stack and Mark Healey]
Yesterday the G of G girls packed up shop and headed over to the Main Beach Surf and Sport in Wainscott for the Quiksilver Pro Surfer autograph session at 6pm. While none of us may know too much about the art of catching waves (my personal knowledge doesn’t extend any further than Blue Crush), the timing couldn’t be more perfect as our first surf lessons with JT White are right around the corner. Luckily for us, pro surfers such as shortboarder Mark Healey (yes, the same one that was on MTV’s True Life), big wave rider Peter Mel, and 17-year old Balaram Stack were there to give us some tips on what to do, and some real true life story on what it’s like to be a pro surfer. [William Heath, founder of Lilybug Scooters] Last night I had the pleasure of meeting William Heath. We were both helping Martin Dawson ring in his 27th year of life at the SPIN Magazine party, and later checked out Noah Tepperberg’s newest spot, Avenue. And, on the walk over to Avenue, William told me all about his company, one which we wrote about on this site last year; Lilybug Scooters. I learned some new things about the company that I’ve always thought was the cleverest of ideas. William’s really close friend (a girl) was tragically killed by a drunk driver, and he started the company in her name. More »
This boy-about-everywhere gets his own special category for “Clothes Make…”. Kristian Lalibarte is never one to disappoint with his attire, and he’s keeping the tradition going for another season here in the Hamptons. After looking especially dapper at the Social Life party on Saturday, and again for the private dinner the following night, we were eager to see what he would have in store for his casual wear. Okay new readers, here’s the deal. We take LOADS of photos each week, and there’s no way we can get them all up in posts. But don’t worry, you can still see all of them in our handy dandy GALLERY SECTION (titled EVENTS at the top of your screen). Besides that, you can do stuff like TAG yourself and other people you may know and even leave funny comments (be nice!) on the pics for others to read! It’s the best procrastination tool we have to offer you. Enjoy.
There’s nothing wrong with a little bit of fresh baked blueberry pie and sweatshirts on Memorial Day weekend; especially when it’s at Kelly Killoren Bensimon’s East Hampton home. That’s right; my favorite new persona from The Real Housewives of New York and Plum TV’s Behind the Hedges had a Memorial Day party on Saturday night. Turns out, Kelly passes with flying colors for actually being a housewife with a beautiful home who threw a very classic and tasteful Memorial Day party. Kelly opened her sprawling Further Lane home (which happens to be one of the BEST addresses in East Hampton) to kick off the Summer ’09 Season in Sweatshirts. The invite strictly called for guests to bring a sweatshirt and that I did. More story and photos below… More »
It’s time to check in up north, to another favorite summer destination of ours, Cape Cod. Last weekend, 230 yachts competed in the 38th Annual Figawi Race and Senator Ted Kennedy was among the guests that came to watch (he was in his 50-foot schoooner Mya).
