Save Summer!

Sunday marked the official end to summer. I’m still holding on for a couple more weeks….everyone knows that October is the best time to be at the beach.
Clemente’s Maryland Crabhouse
From guestofaguest.com:
“Summer Days are officially over and so are evenings spent at Hampton’s ledgendary Lobster Inn. For those craving their fresh seafood (or “Splat” to be specific), here is somewhere that might satisfy your cravings. Take a ride to Sheepshead Bay for Clemente’s Maryland Crabhouse in Brooklyn. The best thing is their “All You Can Eat Buckets of Crab” seasoned with garlic or Old Bay Seasoning. You’ll be equipped with a bib, cracker, mallet and lots of paper towel. Go now while the weather is warm and dine al fresco. Just a word of advise from someone who is there all the time … read up on the proper way of de-shelling a crab or else you’d leave with cuts on your fingers from pulling and tugging on the shells. :-)”
Hamptons House Of The Day
“Evidence, A Dance Company hosted its fifth annual fundraiser “On Our Toes” in the Hamptons at Nova’s Ark, in Bridgehampton. It was a festive outdoor celebration complete with a pre-event cocktail reception and a dance performance, which included the dance company’s signature work “Grace,” created by founder, choreographer and artistic director Ronald K. Brown. Television personality René Syler served as the Mistress of Ceremonies.
The festivities included a live auction and raffle, which featured donated items from the G. R. N’Namdi Gallery, Continental Airlines, the Daily Blossom, Sony Electronics, Tiffany & Co., Emily and Ashley, Banyan Tree Mayakoba Residencies and Bravura Art Gallery. One of the evening highlights was the post event reception, “Dancing with Dancers.” Nova’s Ark was transformed into a discotheque and guests had an opportunity to dance with Ronald K. Brown and members of the dance company.”

The Bridgehampton Drive-In Experience
Sept 26-28th is The Bridgehampton Historical Society’s Car Road Rally Weekend in and they are kicking the weekend off right with a Drive-In Movie night that Friday. Myself, an AVID fan of the Drive In experience, I am more than disappointed that I will be away for this event (please do these earlier in the summer next year??) Bring your Vintage Car for free admission and popcorn around 7:30. Oh and make sure to RSVP as space is limited!

Plum TV’s Nick Leighton Makes The Sunday Styles

And just when I thought this was going to be another unmemorable Thursday afternoon:
“Ladies and gentleman, little Nicky has ARRIVED. Our intrepid reporter Nick Leighton was featured in the New York Times Style Section! Photographed with his trusty Plum mic in hand as he worked the Assouline book party for supermodel Veruschka, he was captured rooftop against the New York City skyline sporting a new crew cut and schoolboy cardigan. His stoic expression reveals that he was either contemplating which hard hitting questions he was going to ask Veruschka, or whether it was to be a gin or vodka night.” [Plum TV]
Kingswood’s Hampton House
We will be imprinting the Kingswood summer ‘08 house in our memory for years to come. The site of one too many vodka-tonics, the pool area looks a lot different to me in the daylight….now we will have to go back to relying on their West Village location for our nights of debauchery.
We Remember
Go HERE for information on beam signing events.
I was in college at the time getting ready for my chemistry lecture and thought that it was a sick joke on the radio. Upon moving to NYC I can honestly say that there is no where else in the world with people as spirited, determined, and strong as they are here. We are all extremely lucky to call this city home.
Feel free to share your 9/11 experience…where were you?
